Preface
At an early age, I have been fascinated what lies beneath the surface of our seas. I lived on the island of St. Thomas, USVI and having settled in, immediately purchased a mask, fins and snorkel. Since I worked at a restaurant at night, I would snorkel for hours at the Sea Horse Cottages private little beach during the day. It was enlightening. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to learn Scuba. One and one half years later, I was testing for my Open Water Scuba Instructor certification. Afterwards, I ended up managing the St. Thomas Diving Club dive shop at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. The diving around the islands was incredible. I dove in some of the most amazing places with the most amazing people. It was the perfect vocation. Then, reality set in, I moved back to the states in 1982. I really didn't dive much for a period of time. I don't like cold water. We raised a family, have careers and lived the American dream. Luckily, my Wife likes warm climates, and for me to dive. My Brother in Law and Sister are avid divers. They have been diving longer than me. We have dove many dive sites in the Caribbean and other spots. Luckily, since I live on the West Coast of Florida, we have the luxury of diving in the Gulf of Mexico. I think it is awesome and dive as often as I can.
I am a perpetual underwater photography amateur. I learn something everytime I descend. I don't claim to know a lot about underwater photography, or videography. I will post whatever I deem worthy of your viewing. Hopefully, you will experience marine life as realistic and clearly as possible. I am very interested in Taxonomy - Biology (a branch of science that encompasses the description, identification, nomenclature, and classification of organisms). In the comments section, ask your question and I will attempt to answer. In Summation, if you enjoy viewing pictures and video of marine life, but don't have the opportunity to learn Scuba, hopefully, this will suffice. I hope you enjoy!
